Ann Tauriainen has been playing billiards for over fifty years. She keeps busy playing billiards: on Monday she often practices with the ladies at Silver Lake, then she plays in leagues on Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening, Wednesday afternoon, QT’s on Thursday, 101 on Friday and in between she golfs and bowls! On Sunday she relaxes to prepare for the coming week…. Her favorite game is 8 ball.
Many people affectionately call her “Annie T” because they can’t pronounce her last name. Both her parents and her deceased husband’s parents came to America from Finland. When Ann was a child the family only spoke the Finnish language at home.
Ann was a pharmacy tech for forty years and she has been a widow for twenty-five years. She came to The Village of Springdale nine years ago from the town of Ontonagon, Michigan where she raised her two children and five grandchildren “the right way.” She’s proud that they are all good kids and she adores her two great-grandchildren. She often travels to see them in Michigan and enjoys their visits in The Villages.
