This Member Spotlight is on a person with a mellow voice, Lynne Albers. (Her nickname is Murph). Lynne and her husband of forty years, Ralph, live in the village of Polo Ridge. They are originally from Sayville, Long Island, New York. They have two daughters and four grandchildren.
She has done many musical performances including singing at the annual VBC party. When you ask her where she got her musical talent, she will tell you that she was taught by Johnny Mathis. She listened to him on records and mimicked his voice range and diction.
Lynne is in the Ladies Billiards Association, BCA Monday night Billiards and Tuesday morning Ladies Billiards. Her favorite game of billiards is fifty-one.
She has a wide rage of interests including, zumba, Operation Shoe Box, karaoke, and sewing. Lynne helped in the sewing of 36,000 Christmas stockings that were sent to our soldiers overseas for the holiday. All of the water color paintings in her house have been painted by her. She is a member of Critter’s Aerobics that swims at Savannah Center. Lynne is a serious Bible study student and has been involved with a Christian Bible Study group for the last thirteen years.
Prior to retirement Lynne was a Legislative Aide. She spent twelve years directing at a Christian School. She received Volunteer of the Year award for the Town of Islip and was also Chief of Staff for Legislative Presiding Officers.
This summer Lynne and Ralph will be celebrating their fortieth year of marriage by taking an Alaskan Cruise. The also plan on cabin camping with their daughters in upstate New York this summer.
If you really want her to be your friend, offer her a piece of lemon meringue pie. That is her favorite food.
